To transfer the game, installed team files and all accumulated replay games and statistics to a new computer, follow these instructions, depending upon the version of the game you are using. Read the complete instructions for your version before starting this process.

For Versions 2010, 2011 & 2012

To transfer the game, installed team files and all accumulated replay games and statistics to a new computer, follow these instructions

  • Install the complete game onto your NEW computer from the Official Game CD or Official Download file. You must install the complete game and not just an upgrade or update. If you attempt to install an upgrade or update onto your new computer, without the complete game being installed first, the upgrade or update will fail. If you no longer have the Official Download file, you can download it again using the same instructions that were sent to you when you ordered the game. If you no longer have those instructions, send an e-mail message, with your name and address and the game you want to download again to support@cactusdevelopment.com. Redownload instructions can be sent to you for Version 2012 only. This redownload feature is not available for previous versions.

  • After successfully installing the complete game on your NEW computer, you will be given an opportunity to install your seasons. Install all of them from the Official CDs, Team Disks, or ZIP files.

  • After successful installation of the complete game and seasons on your NEW computer, click "Free Game Updates" from The Access System to download and install the latest free game update.

  • Now you can copy the Season directories and files from your OLD computer to your NEW computer. You must install each season from the Official CD, Team Disk or Zip file first, BEFORE  you can copy the stats/data from the OLD computer to the NEW computer.

For Versions 2010, 2011 & 2012

  • You must find the folder where your Game Data is saved on your OLD computer and your NEW computer. The location depends upon the version of Windows you are using and your operating system's configuration. It will probably be something like this:

    C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Cactus League Games\Cactus League College Basketball

  • Substitute your name, above, for "Your Name." This folder may be hidden by your operating system. Refer to your Operating System's help file for instructions to unhide files/folders and to search for a folder on your computer.

  • When you find this folder on your OLD computer, you will see several folders for each of your installed seasons. You must copy all of the folders (and the files within) from the OLD computer to the proper location on the NEW computer.

  • When properly copied to the NEW computer (assuming you have installed the season properly on the NEW computer) you will see all of your teams, rosters, schedules, statistics, etc. from the OLD computer. Once you are certain you have copied properly, delete files and folder from the OLD computer.

  • Follow the same procedure to find where the season should be copied to on your NEW computer. Assuming you have installed the season from the Original CD, Team Disk or ZIP file, your season will be identical to your OLD computer after you copy this season directory to your NEW computer.

  • Repeat this process for each installed season.

  • If you ordered "Download Only" when you bought the complete game, you will be prompted to apply for a Registration Code the first time you run the game on your new computer. Keep in mind that, as indicated on the Cactus League College Basketball Information & FAQ page, you are entitled to two Registration Codes when purchasing "Download Only." If you will exceed that number with this installation, you will be required to purchase an additional code or upgrade to the CD version. We recommend that you upgrade to the CD, which will allow you to install the game on all of your computers without a Registration Code. When you upgrade to the CD you will be able to obtain your new Registration Code right away, so you can play while you wait for the CD to be shipped to you. You can upgrade to the CD now.

Version 2009, or earlier

  • Install the complete game onto your NEW computer from the Official Game CD or Official Download file. You must install the complete game and not just an upgrade or update. If you attempt to install an upgrade or update onto your new computer, without the complete game being installed first, the upgrade or update will fail. If you no longer have the Official Download file, you can download it again using the same instructions that were sent to you when you ordered the game. If you no longer have those instructions, send an e-mail message, with your name and address and the game you want to download again to resendinstructions@cactusdevelopment.com.

  • After successfully installing the complete game on your NEW computer, you will be given an opportunity to install your seasons. Install all of them from the Official CDs, Team Disks, or ZIP files.

  • After successful installation of the complete game and seasons, run the AutoGame Update Module to download and install the latest game update.

  • Then, you can copy the Season directories and files from your OLD computer to your NEW computer. You must install each season from the Official CD, Team Disk or Zip file first, before you can copy the stats/data from the OLD computer to the NEW computer. On your OLD computer, find your Game Directory, which, if you installed the game into the default directory will be:

C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\

On your OLD computer there will be subdirectories, in the Game Directory, for each of your installed seasons. For example, if the 2002-03 season is completely installed, you will find these directories in C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball:

C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\2002-03
C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\2002-03a
C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\2002-03b
C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\2002-03c
C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\2002-03d
C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\2002-03e
C:\Program Files\Cactus\Cactus League College Basketball\2002-03f

Copy each of these directories and all files and directories in each to the same location on your NEW computer. Be sure to copy all subdirectories and files in each of the directories above. There are many levels with many files in each level. If you do not copy all of the files and directories, the 2002-03 season many not operate properly on your NEW computer.
